A Great Line-Up

2014-04-14 09:30 by Theo van Hoesel (‎vanHoesel‎)

Not so long ago, we were not sure how to fill all the gaps in the schedule. But many people have submitted their talks and presentations. We are proud to announce that the schedule has been finished and that we have great speakers from Europe attending this Dutch Perl Workshop. And very important, even some people that have not done a presentation before, you can not miss out on those.

Have a look at the schedule and see yourself what interesting moments there are during the day. Also, please fill in if you intend to come and listen to any of those.

Just in case you haven't registered yet at all, there is still time, but not much. Go to the registration page and enrol for this unique Perl Workshop.

BTW. Lightning Talks are still welcome!

Matt S. Trout is coming

2014-03-25 19:55 by Theo van Hoesel (‎vanHoesel‎)

I am very happy to announce that Matt S. Trout is coming to the Dutch Perl Workshop. He is well known for being a bold speaker at conferences and workshops delivering entertaining messages. But he is also known for having outstanding knowledge on many many topics, especially on Catalyst and DBIx::Class, being the project founder.

Step by step, the Dutch Perl Workshop is becoming bigger and bigger, having international speakers and guests from many countries around the world.

Speakers: Jonathan Worthington

2014-02-03 13:50 by Theo van Hoesel (‎vanHoesel‎)

One of the speakers in the Perl-DevRoom at FOSDEM, Brussels was Jonathan Worthington. He gave a very practical demonstration of what is possible with Perl6 at a level that every developer can understand.

Jonathan is one of those people that are dedicated to bring Perl 6 into the hands of programmers. He takes a lot off effort into the development of the Rakudo Compiler. You can read up on his web-page about Perl 6 for more interesting things.

For those who missed that presentation, there will be an excelent opertunity for you to see what you can do with Perl6 at the NLPW::2014

Speaker Organisers LeonT & SawyerX

In order to get a wide range of talks and presentations, LeonT & SawyerX will actively approach people in the Netherlands and abroad and come up with a very nice schedule.

However, this should not stop you from submitting on anything interesting, there is no reason to wait. We love to hear something new and surprising.

Speakers: DrForr

2014-01-31 22:12 by Theo van Hoesel (‎vanHoesel‎)

It was a wonderful beer-night at Delirium, Brussels before FOSDEM. And one of the special things was that Jeff Goff was willing to come to the Netherlands and give a presentation.

NB. it has been confirmed after FOSDEM again.

Gold Sponsor: tevrden.nl

2014-01-30 10:34 by Theo van Hoesel (‎vanHoesel‎)

It has been rejoicing to hear that tevreden.nl was going to be a gold-sponsor. The company provides a customer-satisfaction survey system. It makes it possible to compare your own business with the rest of the market. And of course powered by Perl.

Thank you for this generous gift that makes it possible that we can have a delicious buffet at Grand Cafe the Lebowski at the evening.

Liz and Wendy of WenZPerl BV support the Perl 6 Developers financially and logistically

2014-01-27 20:30 by Theo van Hoesel (‎vanHoesel‎)

The Perl 6 Community, in the shape of the Perl 6 Developer Team, have joined the list of sponsors of the Dutch Perl Workshop (NLPW) with a generous contribution as the first Gold sponsor.

Perl 6 has grown in the past two years releasing features and furthering the development of its core language.

"Camelia is the spokesbug for Perl 6, the spunky little sister of Perl 5. Like her world-famous big sister, Perl 6 intends to carry forward the high ideals of the Perl community.

Perl 6 is currently being developed by a team of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers. You can help too. The only requirement is that you know how to be nice to all kinds of people (and butterflies). Go to #perl6 (irc.freenode.net) and someone will be glad to help you get started."

The Dutch Perl Workshop is delighted to have them as sponsors in its twelfth meeting this year.

We have out first 10 registrations, in less than one day of being online. Lets see what happens in the first week and if we can hit the 25 by then.

We welcome our first sponsor

Finding sponsors for a Perl event can be very difficult and hard work. But in less than half an hour of sending out the sponsor brochure, Jan Hoogenraad responded that Spoorgloren will be supporting this event.

Thank you very much
