Wiki - sightseeing
There are a few nice destinations close the vicinity. If you would like to join-in, please enlist your names and whether you would like to go there on Friday, Saturday (As partner program), or Sunday. In the last week before the conference, Markov will try to combine all the wishes.
be careful with names: this wiki is publicly visible
Burgers' Zoo just 15 minutes walk at the opposite side of this neighborhood. The Zoo is famous for its huge halls: Rain-forest, Desert, Mongrove with butterflies, Ocean with sharks.
The list is free format. I have added myself as
- Mark Overmeer (markov) on Friday, maybe with son.
- Joyce and Thomas (family of Arjen) on Saturday
- Melinda Kiss (damnlie) on Sunday (most likely)
Openluchtmuseum / Openairmuseum
Website, just 10 minutes walk at the end of the road. Entrance is free with the "Museumjaarkaart". It is certainly worth the visit!
The list is free format. I have added myself as example:
- MarkOv on Sunday, to show you around for an hour or so. I need to take care of hackathons etc as well.
Museum Kroller-Muller / Hoge veluwe
website about 10km away.
In the middle of the beautiful nature park "Hoge Veluwe" is the art museum "Kroller Muller". It has as, for instance, over 150 paintings by Van Gogh. It has "white bicycles", free to ride around the park.
You can go there by bus or we drive you there.
We can arrange a bike. At the end of the road starts National Park Veluwezoom (includes the Posbank), which is a beautiful, slightly hilly nature area.
In Arnhem, the Allied got stuck after the "D-day", at the end of the second world war. You may have seen the movie "A bridge to Far" or heard about "Operation Market Garden". There are various museums and memorials around.
